Downtown + diPietro Todd

Collaborating with our neighbor “Downtown” on Maiden Lane was fun. The clothes were edgy with a rocker vibe. The hair trend perfectly suited the clothing. It was done by a group of our very own stylists and fashionistas—Anderson, Alex, Nona and Lauren—from our Union Square location. The best part for me was walking up to the store just before the event and seeing Anderson (our stylist who headed up the event) and his darling bleached blonde short haircut model posing for an impromptu shoot for the Chronicle! dipietro todd

Fashion Week Demos

Akemi and Moises headed out to New York with the rest of the Creative office to do Fall Fashion week. The report back was that the event was more intense than doing the Spring shows but thrilling nevertheless. According to Akemi, working with Odile is not only a great experience but an honor. I’m not sure what we enjoy more— watching Akemi duplicate the looks for the season at our salon demos or hearing about all the great stories from behind the scenes. On any account we really appreciate being associated with the shows and thank Kerastase for the opportunity. Kudos to Akemi and Moises for always being invited back.
The Gaultier event at the deYoung Museum far exceeded my expectations for the evening. The minute I got there Michael O’Rourke pointed out world renowned hair stylist, Odile Gilbert. I introduced myself and told her how much our Creative Director, Akemi, admired and enjoyed working with her and how excited it was for me to meet her—-the most famous female hairdresser in the world! Michael took our picture together. Odile looked beautiful last night. Her hair was clean, soft and wavy and she had a beautiful sweet demure dress on. Shortly after that, we ran into Cindy Minkes, the woman who does all the interviews and reviews in the magazines I read. I proceeded to introduce myself and expressed the fact that this event was highly anticipated and probably the most exciting thing that S.F has seen in a long time. (Not that she cared what I had to say. She sees everything.) I had my photo taken with her too! It seemed as though every cool person was out last night in S.F. I haven’t been this inspired by people watching in a really long time. The gay boys were over the top and the females just let it rip. The brilliance behind Gaultier and his team was mind boggling! I was having so much fun, I couldn’t stand it. Hanging out with Maggie is a trip…she is constantly moving and always right in the mix. Michael was such a sweet escort to us both. All in all, the whole thing was a blast!
